Monday in French Lick

Sunday evening several of Jeff’s nieces and their children came to the condo to visit – and I didn’t get a single picture. Sigh. Then Monday morning some came back and others came to visit, and then we went to Legendz, a restaurant here in town for lunch. The bar wasn’t open at that hour, but luckily his niece Arielle is friends with the owner, and he let us into the bar side to see all of the Larry Bird memorailia. This is the gym floor from Springs Valley High School, where he played.

Everyone else headed home after lunch and walking around town for a bit, and then after naps some of us headed down to the French Lick Springs hotel to do some exploring. There are mineral springs here, which is wht first brought travelers to this area, and the historical hotel was built in 1905, after the original one burned. We were exploring the springs, and Jeff went over to inspect the old door that was in what looked like an ancient part of the basement of the hotel – but said it was just an empty little room. It is all so picturesque.
