Clara’s Final Choralier Spaghetti Supper

Last night was the annual Choralier spaghetti supper fundraiser at the high school, and we enjoyed watching Clara and the rest of the Choraliers perform – as always. Every year they finish up the show with the same song, The Garden Song, and every year they invite former Choraliers to join the choir on the risers to sing that song. This year, being Clara’s last year, Addie agreed to go down and sing with her. It was just a tad emotional for their mother and grandmother, to put it mildly.

Clara does love being in this group.

Best High School Score

Last week we were at Waterford, in Rock Hill, to see Clara in action. She shot her lowest score ever in a school match, her dad told me – a 41. We were so proud and excited! And that was in spite of ending up in the rough on this hole :-).

The girls had new t-shirts to wear, in honor of Shea Hall, the softball coach at the high school who is fighting cancer. I was proud that they were showing their support.

Last Springlake School Golf Match

Last week we were at Springlake Country Club, where Clara and her family are members, for the final match she’ll play there in her high school career. It’s not her school home course, but it’s her own home course, so it was pretty emotional. I got this action photo of her.

And this one of her with her Aunt Moni – her dad’s sister – who is also a big golfer at Springlake. The pink hats are in honor of the softball coach at the high school, who is battling cancer. Special day.

Wedding Pix, Part 1

We had a wonderful time last Saturday at Lesley & Connor’s wedding at Camp Cherokee, the camp where Lesley worked when she was growing up. Our grand girls were greeters and program distributors, and I got this picture of them just as we were getting there.

They requested no pictures be made during the ceremony, and people really did seem to follow their wishes, so the next picture I got was this one of Jenny, Andrew, Lindee, & Jeff during the Champagne Hour.

Everyone loved it when the dancing started up. That’s Meg in the blue floral & Sherri’s granddaughter Jade in the short black dress. It was just a fun, fun evening.

Welcome Dinner

I have got to get either a new camera or a new phone, since neither are taking very good pictures these days. I got this one, such as it is, of Lesley and her fiance Connor with some of their friends at the Welcome Dinner on Friday night before their wedding on Saturday. It was so, so much fun. The couple on the left is some of their California friends who flew in for the festivities; on the right is Val, her lifelong bestie who was a bridesmaid and who was in from New York, where she lives now, and her boyfriend, also named Connor. Such a happy time.

Wedding Preps

Last Wednesday, the week before Lesley’s wedding, we spent the morning at our church, making chicken salad and pimento cheese and brownies for their friends who were all staying at Camp Cherokee for the festivities to have for lunch on Thursday and then for snacks as needed. I got this picture of the bride in action.

Back at the Golf Course

It is hard to believe that Clara’s senior golf season will be winding down soon. We have loved watching her and Mallory both play so much. I got this picture at a recent match. I do love their shirts this year with the team name down the back.

Going Down in Defeat

I got this picture when we were at the game in Hartsville, where Adam and his Bearcat teammates played the high school there. They really got beat badly, and after the game they had to go straight to the bus, so I didn’t get any pictures of our guy – just this one action shot. Hartsville is a couple of hours away, and Jeff & I got a motel room & spent the night so we wouldn’t have to be driving home so late. That was a good plan – we were exhausted and both fell asleep as soon as we got in the room.
