Christmas Day Visiting

As is our tradition on Christmas day, we started off our day with breakfast at Addie & Lee’s house. Mason got a new phone that he was working hard on getting set up that morning.

Lunch was at Andrew & Jenny’s – even though Jenny was just getting over a bout with Covid, the food was delicious and we had a great time. I got this picture before we headed out the door.

Christmas Eve

This year we had our Christmas celebration with the kids and grandkids on Christmas Eve, which is unusual for us. It was a great time. Everyone came straight after church, and we had potluck, so everyone just brought their favorite dishes. We had pastas and potato casseroles and so much goodness. Too much fun to get many pictures, although I did get this of Jackson, Lindee, & Mallory as presents were being opened.

Jackson took this family picture of us all on the front porch. Addie had wanted everyone to wear their pajamas, so we had to change back into them after church. Everyone did not go along with that plan, but the ones of us who did sure were comfortable. 🙂

Last Day of School

Monday was Clara’s last day of school before Christmas break, so we met after she got out at the Eagle’s Nest in Clover – her, her mom, Mallory, and me – to have an early supper to celebrate. It’s so hard to believe her sophomore year is half over!

Wreathes Across America

Last Saturday Adam & I headed to Charlotte to Forest Lawn Cemetery West, to meet Andy, Amy, Nathan, and three of his children, to participate in the Wreathes Across America program there. One of the sponsors of the program there is Nate’s daughters Mia & Marissa’s American Heritage Girls troop – we had purchased wreathes through them – and we were some of the volunteers who place the wreathes of the graves of veterans at that cemetery. It was a very moving day. Here are a couple of pictures. As you placed the wreathes, you said the veteran’s name out loud. Hearing those murmurs from all over the cemetery was very touching.

Mason’s Basketball Game

Mase hasn’t really wanted us to come to watch him play basketball this year, but Thursday evening he finally relented, and we were at the middle school to see him on the court. Here are a couple of “action” shots. Truthfully when he’s really in the game I am too excited to even think about my camera. Ha.

Buddy Christmas Gathering

Last week my besties & I gathered at my friend Charlotte’s house for our Christmas get-together. She had it decorated so prettily, all of the food folks brought was delicious, and we had a wonderful time. Here are a couple of pictures.

Mason’s Dance Program

Clover Middle School students are required to take a semester every year of performing arts, and this year Mason was in the dance class. I couldn’t imagine it, but Addie said he really did like it. Maybe he & June have inherited some of the same dance genes from somewhere :-). I didn’t get any action photos of him that turned out, but did get this one of him as he was sitting with his classmates, waiting for the eighth graders to go on stage

And this one when they came out to take their final bow 🙂

Wednesday Pix

Beautiful cotton candy sky on my way to take Clara to school that morning…

I had to pick her up early that day to get her to school for her interview for ROTC Cadet of the Semester. She had been named Cadet of the Month for December, and all of those cadets who had won that award for the previous five months were in the running for Cadet of the Semester. She said there was no way she was getting this one, so she wasn’t worried 🙂

A Few More from the Concert

I truly am an obsessed grandmother. Here are a couple of more pictures that I just had to save here.

Getting a big hug from Cousin Leesy after the show. I don’t know who that man was laughing so big in the picture, but he got a huge kick out of all of the people who kept coming down the stairs and hugging Clara. She had quite the fan club there.

A quick picture with her Aunt Sherri before Sher & Gar had to hit the road.
