Supper with Lesley

Lesley was in York County for a few days for Christmas, and last night she came and joined us for supper, along with others who could be here. We had a great time. Folks stayed for a couple of hours while we visited and talked and laughed, and then after everyone else was gone, LP stayed until almost midnight for us to do our own catching up. It’s always so special to spend time with her. Here are a couple of pictures.

Family Gathering

The kids and grandkids were all here Monday evening for our Christmas gathering. I was so busy having fun I didn’t get a single group picture, even of the grandkids, but snapped a couple of group photos when we were sitting around opening presents. Here are out babies doing some catching up…

And Charlie with his Uncle Lee. Great, great times…

Christmas Day pix

Mason had the flu Christmas weekend, so we had to skip our traditional Christmas morning breakfast with Addie & family, but I did run by on my way to church to take them some crab bread, & Mase was feeling enough better that I was comfortable going in & seeing what all they had for Christmas – they were still opening presents. Alas, I didn’t take my camera with me, so didn’t get any pictures. At Andrew & Jenny’s for a yummy lunch, and to see all of their goodies. Charlie was very excited about his new jacket.

Then to LIndee’s, for a yummy taco/nacho supper, and to let the girls show off all of their goodies. Of course the highlight of the day was Mallory’s new (to her) car. She was so excited, and we were excited for her.

Adam at the wrestling match

Tuesday evening I was in Rock Hill to watch Adam in action with his wrestling team – Jeff stayed home sick. Alas, Rawlinson Road, the team Sullivan was wrestling against, didn’t have anyone in Adam’s weight class, so he won by forfeit. He hates that – he ALWAYS wants to wrestle. So the only picture I got of him was when he came up into the stands to talk to us.

Circle Christmas Party

Monday evening we had our circle Christmas party at Linda Abernathy’s house. She had it decorated so beautifully, but this is the only picture I got of either of the tables, or any of the decorations at all. Such a fun, festive evening.

Five Hundred Nativity Scenes

Sunday afternoon my friend Charlotte and I headed to Swansea to visit Calvary United Methodist Church, and take in their nativity scene display – 500 throughout the church. It was absolutely beautiful. This first display was the entire counter long, and showed Bethlehem on the hillside, and then the entire city of Jerusalem. This is maybe a third of it. There were descriptions of all that you were looking at taped to the cabinets above. Beautiful and impressive, to say the least.

There were nativity scenes on display from all around the world, every one of them beautiful in its own way. More pix to follow.

CHS Christmas Chorus Concert

Last night Meg & I were at the auditorium to see Clara perform as a member of the Women’s Ensemble, part of the annual Christmas concert. She really wasn’t as sad singing as it looks in this first picture. Ha.

In the second part of their performance, the women’s and men’s ensembles performed together. It was so cute as could be, and just so much fun.
