Lady Trojan Invitational

Today we were at Rock Hill Country Club for the annual day long Lady Trojan Invitational Golf Tournament. Mallory came in 5th place (we think. Some of the teams weren’t in when we had to leave, but she usually scores better than any of those girls do.) We got this picture of the team before they hit the course That’s Mallory in the middle, and Clara in the white cap next to her.

The final scorecard.

Narroway

Saturday was a buddy day, when we celebrated Charlotte & Sherry’s birthdays with breakfast at Charlotte’s house. Spending time with my besties is always special.

From there we headed to Narroway Christian Dinner Theater to take in the play, “Jesus the Teacher.” Excellent experience, and again, always special to be with these ladies.

LP Comes to Supper

Lesley has been in town since flying in for her grandmother’s funeral, and Friday evening she came over for supper. Usually when she is here the house is packed with so many people that we don’t get a lot of visiting in, but this time it was just her with Jeff & me, so we got all kinds of catching up done. Jeff took this picture before she headed out to meet her buddies for the evening. Such a special time for me.

Thursday Golf

Thursday afternoon Clover High Lady Eagles had a match against Nations Ford. Mallory and Vivian have been playing with/against each other for five years now, and they are so well matched in every way. I’m learning that during a grandchild’s senior year of high school there are lots of options to be tearing up, like when they hugged at the end of the match. In fact, I’m tearing up now just thinking about it. I didn’t get a picture of that hug, but here are a couple of others from the day.

Wednesday Pix

Wednesday morning Meg & I traveled to Seneca to be there for the funeral of sister-in-law Shea’s mom. It was a sweet time, and I so enjoyed seeing all of Shea’s family. I got this picture afterwards of Shea with her sister Jan and brother Brett.

We went out to eat afterwards with all of the family, and then hit the road for home, so I could pick up Jeff and get to Rock Hill in time to see Adam play in his first 8th grade football game. He did a great job. He played all but two plays of the first half, I think, on both the offensive and defensive line, and then most of the second half at center – a position he’d only started practicing for the day before. And he recovered a fumble! Sullivan Falcons won pretty big – fun evening. He’s blue #54.

Favor Table from the Shower

One of my favorite things at the shower last weekend was the table of favors, set up like a counter at a bait shop, with bags you could fill up of all of the snacks you would buy when you were heading out on a fishing trip. So creative. Here are a couple of pictures.

Jack Freeman’s Shower

Saturday I headed up to King for Jack Freeman Smith’s shower – Josh and Hillary’s new baby who is due in November. It was the cutest thing – all with a fishing theme. The favor table was set up with all of the snacks that you’d buy at a bait shop, and bags to put them in. So, so cute.

I don’t know what button I pushed on the camera to make this picture of the table centerpieces look so odd, but they, too, were as cute as could be.

After the Golf Tournament

Yesterday was the Clover Lady Eagles’ first big tournament of the season.  Mallory was sick, so I rode with Lindee & Clara down to Duncan, SC, to watch her in action.  Once again we didn’t get a cart, so we had to walk almost the entire 18 holes – and my trusty fit bit told me it was a little over nine miles.  Luckily they carted the girls – I don’t think they would have made it carrying those clubs all that way, and with the heat, to boot.  I got this picture of them afterwards – that’s Clara second from left, if you can’t pick her out.  She scored a 102, her best score ever on nine holes, and the lowest score on her team.  We were proud – and I surely did sleep good last night 🙂
