Cooper & Family Come for a Visit

A couple of weeks ago my nephew Cooper – Zollie & Renee’s son – and his wife Rachel and daughters Mary, who’s six, and Frankie, who’s four, came for lunch & a great afternoon visit. We got this picture before they headed on to Georgia, where they were spending the weekend camping with Sherri and Gary.

Mary wanted just her picture made before they left. It was such a fun time with them all.

Patio Work Going Strong

These are from a couple of weeks ago – the patio is all finished up now – but I took this picture from the kitchen window while they were hard at work. When I sent one out like this to our family, Charlie told me he at one time had run a concrete machine like that. Maybe we could have gotten him to just pour our patio :-).

A proud Jeff overlooking the almost finished project. The concrete guys had to come back a day or two later to put the lines in the concrete. It is very exciting.

Fish Fry with June

A couple of weeks ago June invited me to go to York Band’s Fish Fry fundraiser – a good friend of her’s younger sister is in the band – and we had a great time – and great food. I got this picture of Bug while we were eating and catching up.

Football Game

These pix are from a couple of weeks ago. It’s been a busy time around here lately & I haven’t been able to get caught up on pictures until now. Adam is #45, standing on the sidelines with one of his besties, Brady, #54.

After the game, with his proud Momma.

Patio Work Begins

Jeff has wanted a patio poured outside our basement since we built this house 25 years ago, and last week it finally happened. The first day all they did was dump junk wood in the front yard to use to build the form to pour the concrete.

Last Week’s Golf Match

Last week Clara and the Lady Eagles played at Fort Mill Country Club – maybe 20 miles down the road – against Catawba Crest High School. I loved this picture I got of Clara hitting out of the sandtrap.

And this one, afterwards, of her with her proud mom and Emmy, her other grandmother.

York County Mural Tour

Last week Meg & I spent a day taking a tour around Rock Hill and Fort Mill, checking out all of the murals that had been painted on buildings. I had no idea there were so many – it was great fun. Our first stop was the Main Library in Rock Hill, where the mural commemorating the work of Vernon Grant, Rock Hill native and creator of the Rick Krispie Snap, Crackle, and Pop characters, wrapped around the building. It was very cool.

This one, also in downtown Rock Hill, was one of my favorites.
