Painting the pickets

Jeff spent several days last week getting all of the pickets on the back deck painted – after having pressured washed them the week before. I spent Sunday afternoon helping. It wasn’t hard work, but kind of labor intensive. I got this picture of him not long before he finished up.

At the Soccer Field

It has been good to h.ave so many grandchildren’s sports activities as a diversion this week. Saturday morning we were in Shelby to cheer Clara and her Clover Elite teammates on in their soccer match. They went down in defeat, but played hard the whole game. I got this one action photo – Clara is the one in the white.

And this one after the match. We only stayed for one match, but she had two more that afternoon and two on Sunday. She does love that soccer.

Adam’s Game…

…on Wednesday was an exciting come-from-behind victory over York. Andy & Amy, Sherri, and Boo were all there to cheer him on. I got this picture of him in action – in the middle of the picture, in the black socks and shoes – on the kickoff team.

5A Region 3 Golf Tournament

Yesterday we were at Chester Golf Club for the region golf tournament. Jeff & I spent the day following Clara while Lindee & Jackson were with Mallory. It was a great day. Mal shot a 77 to come in third in the region, make the all region team, and qualify as the individual to advance to the upper state tournament next week. Clara, shown in action here, shot her best round ever with a 93 and also made the all-region team. To say we had a good day was an understatement.

Unfortunately the team did not qualify to advance, losing out to Spring Valley by just a few points. We got this picture of our team closing out their season before we headed home – til next week.

Back at the ballfield

Thursday evening we were at the ballpark to watch Mason and his teammate Vipers in action again. They went down in defeat, 4-2, but I still thought it was one of the best games they’d played. Mason got a really good hit, & I’m not gonna lie, I’m not sure if it was this at-bat or not. So proud of him with how good he’d playing in his first ever baseball season

Sullivan Falcons Football

Wednesday evening we were back at the big District 3 Stadium – we think they have moved the games there since the middle school field doesn’t have lights, & now that it’s getting darker earlier that’s the only thing that will work – to see Adam and his Sullivan Falcon teammates take on an always powerful Saluda Trail Middle School team. Sullivan went down in defeat, but they fought hard the whole game. Here you can maybe pick Adam out on the offensive line as the center.

A couple of group pictures

We got these after Mallory’s final regular season high school match. My friend Evelyn – Mal & Clara’s Auntie Evie – was there to watch her and Clara in action, too, and she took this picture for us when Mallory finished up.

And we got this one when Clara came in right behind her.
