Clara’s Confirmation Day

What a beautiful, perfect day we had today, when Clara was confirmed at church. We were up at the front during the actual confirmation, so I wasn’t able to get a picture of the actual service. Mallory did take this picture of us with our girl afterwards, though.

We had fun just being together at Clara’s house for lunch afterwards, and I got this picture of her and Mason together as the Yarbroughs were getting ready to leave. Such a special day.

June’s Dance Recital

This afternoon was June’s dance recital. The last time she took dance was when she was probably four years old, but with her doing virtual school this year, I guess she decided she wanted to give it a try, just to have an outside activity. She had really enjoyed it, and she did such a great job today. I did not, however, do a great job of getting pictures. Sigh.

Photo op after the show.

Thursday Pix

I really do try not to be a terrible nag, but I have bugged Jeff to death about repairing the steps to our deck ever since a piece broke off of one & Mallory fell on our way to our Smith Family Christmas party. He finally got it done this week, and here I am making my inaugural walk down the steps – heading off to another gathering, this time with friends. We’re calling them the Mallory Steps 🙂

Last night we went to the middle school to hear Clara perform the the chorus concert. Mal took this picture of us with her after the program. They did such a good job.

Memorial Day Pix

I was at Momma’s on Memorial Day this year, getting her up and visiting until after lunch. I was so excited when I got home, though, to find that Jeff had starting tearing down our deck steps. I had been nagging him about it for I don’t know how long, and I was really excited to see that the job had been started.

Our Forever Young group sold wreaths back in the spring, and Addie & Lee got me this one – perfect for using on Memorial Day.

Liz’s Visit

Liz Smith came to surprise Gran while I was there Monday, & then came here to spend the night and to breakfast the next morning with Addie and June. What a great time we had!

The Birthday Party

Sunday afternoon we were at Greg and Tabitha’s for Whitley-Grace and Mackinsey Sue’s Unicorn birthday party – WG’s 4th and Mackie’s 2nd. It was so much fun watching all of the kids playing outside.

Present opening and birthday cake was inside, though :-). What a special day.

Saturday in Georgia

This past Saturday we had a family reunion in Hiawassee. Normally we get together at Christmas, but this past year Covid had us postpone it until last week. There really was a very good turnout, including both of my aunts, my daddy’s younger sisters. Aunt Norma Jean, who hosted the event, and Aunt Nita. I love them both so much.

From Hiawassee June and I headed to our motel in Monroe, GA, where we checked in, and then were off to eat supper at Greg and Tabitha’s. From there we went to Sherri and Gary’s hotel, where there was an indoor pool, and June and Sherri & Gary’s granddaughter Lynleigh swam until closing time. Wonderful day.
