CHS Girls Golf is Back

The kids all went back to school on Monday, & yesterday was Mallory and Clara’s first golf match of the school season. We split up to watch them – Lindee spent most of the day following Mallory, and Jeff & I were with Clara. I got this action shot.

And this one of them together after the match was over. They were a little disheartened that I was taking it after they’d been out on the course sweating like pigs, but I still thought they were beautiful.

The Friends Experience: The One in Atlanta, Part 1

This past Saturday Lindee, Mallory, Clara, & I headed down to Atlanta for a day trip to take in The Friends Experience – an early Christmas present for the three of them. We had the best time. They had great displays about the writing, casting, etc.. One of my favorites was on the costuming.

Lots of the iconic sets that were available for photo ops, like Joey & Chandler’s recliners. Mallory and Clara are such Friends fans that they had the moves down pat. I wish I’d had a video of them reclining perfectly in unison, just like the characters did on the show. Lindee & I just reclined on our own 🙂

Final Golf Tournament

Last Wednesday I got back from the beach just in time to get to Mallory’s final golf tournament of the summer. I will never understand how those kids can play in that heat. She did a good job, but finished up as runner-up for the upper state tournament. This is the only picture I got of her all day.

In Southport

Last week was our annual Beached Whale outing with my buddies at Sunset Beach in NC. We didn’t go last year – Covid just made us too nervous – but we went for a few days this year. So much fun. We spent one day in Southport, a port city maybe 45 minutes north of Sunset Beach, and had a great time. The visitors center had a great museum with lots of history about the town, including information about this author who grew up there. I’d never heard of him before, but I think I’m going to want to see if I can find any of his books.

American Girl Doll Store

With my granddaughters all teenagers now, I wasn’t sure I’d ever have call to go to an American Girl Doll Store ever again. But last Saturday Tabitha brought Lynleigh and Whitley-Grace up to spend the night and visit. It was their first time ever to see one, and the girls were so excited. We had great fun. Here is Lynleigh Rose face-timing with her dad, showing him all of the treasures…

…and Whitley-Grace showing off her Isabella’s new hairstyle that she got at the beauty shop there (and her painted fingernails, too 🙂 )

Sliding Rock

After we left Looking Glass Falls yesterday, we headed over to spend a couple of hours at Sliding Rock. Here is Adam on his first trip down, getting ready to hit that 50 degree pool of water at the bottom. I think from the look on his face that just with his feet in it, he could tell it was going to be sort of brutal 🙂

And Mallory on her way down. So much fun.

Looking Glass Falls

Today Mallory, Clara, Adam, & I went up to the mountains in NC to spend the day before they start back to school in ten days. Our first stop was Looking Glass Falls. It was just beautiful. Here are a couple of pictures, plus my partners-in-crime for the day 🙂
