Mia and Callie

Catching up on old pictures now. I got this one a couple of weeks ago when I went up to Nathan and Diane’s house – Andy & Amy’s son – to pick up barbecue that I’d bought from their son Daniel’s Trail Life troop. These are his oldest and next youngest sisters, Mia and Marissa, hanging out while his mom & I visited. I can’t remember where Daniel and his youngest sister, Callie, were at the time, but they are all just cute as can be.

Easter Pix

We had our annual Easter gathering here at the house for lunch today, although Andrew, Jenny, & Adam were on vacation in Florida & weren’t able to be here. It was still a wonderful, beautiful day, though. We got this picture of Addie & Lee and their kids with the azaleas that were still blooming.

Jeff had a good time arranging the grandkids amongst the azaleas, so they weren’t just standing in a boring straight line like they have been every other year 🙂

Military Ball, Part 2

Lindee got this picture of Jeff and me with our girl before she headed out for the ball.

Her good, good buddy Jacob with his mom. I am over the nursery at church, she is over the children’s programs, so we have worked a lot together over the years. At the last military ball, as a matter of fact, she was directing some children’s activity at church that very night, so on their way to the ball, after all of the kids left the picture session at Lindee & Jackson’s, they went by the church so Cathy could see them all dressed up. I was so glad she got to be there for pix this time.

Military Ball

Saturday night Jeff & I headed out to Lindee & Jackson’s house to take pictures of Clara and her buddies heading out to the spring Military Ball. They all just looked so beautiful. Here is Clara with her besties Maily, Olivia, and Addie. They all just looked so beautiful.

Jacob and Clara have gone to church together I guess since they were born, and school together since they were four years old. He was the only date who was able to be there for the pictures. Wade, Clara’s date, had a day-long track meet that day, and only had time to meet her at the dance – no picture time. I do hope they got some pix together while they were there.

Addie has been one of her besties ever since she started high school, but her mom has recently gotten transferred to California, so she will be going to college at Cal State Fullerton, I think Lindee said. I hope she loves it, but it will be hard for Clara to let her go. I’m glad we got this picture of them together. Clara was taking a tie that matched her dress for Wade to put on when he got to the dance, so Addie posed holding it like she was Clara’s date for this picture 🙂

Carolina Classic Invitational

Yesterday morning we were in York to see Adam in action in the pole vault again. Once again he cleared his PR of 10′, but just missed making 10’6″. He is working so hard that I’m sure he’s going to hit it soon.

Roslyn Sorrell

Friday night Meg & I were off to Gastonia, about 15 miles down the road, to see one of the shows in their Performing Arts Series. This is the first year we’ve had tickets to their shows there. They don’t have as many shows as we do here in Clover, but we have so enjoyed them all. Roslyn Sorrell had a beautiful voice, and just sang all kinds of songs. Great time.

Soul of Broadway

Thursday night was our final program in our Performing Arts Series at the auditorium here in town, The Soul of Broadway, starring Terron Brooks. He first starred as David Ruffin in the mini-series about The Temptations back in the 1990’s, so he sang some of their songs. Then he starred on Broadway in The Lion King as Simba, so he sang a couple of songs from that. And then he sang songs from all kinds of Broadway shows. He just had a beautiful voice. Fun time.

Wednesday Track Meet

We were back at Rock Hill High School Wednesday afternoon to see Adam compete in the track meet, and were so, so proud when he matched his PR of ten feet. This is obviously not his best jump – you can see the bar falling down – but he’s always fun to watch, and we loved that he ended up having such a good meet.

With his proud momma after his jump…
