Addie did an absolutely fabulous job of decorating for June’s graduation party. It was held yesterday afternoon at our church, and everything about it just screamed June. It was a late afternoon party, so the refreshments were a dessert bar – yummy and so cute. June has a green thumb like we have never seen in our family – something she inherited from her other grandmother – so the decor included lots of the plants out of her room.

With June being one of the world’s great Swifties, that was the theme of the party. Taylor Swift includes what she calls Easter Eggs in her albums/social media/shows, so Addie put several of those around for June and Mallory and Clara to find – and anyone else who happened to be a Swiftie, too. I think Mal told me Lost in the Memory was one of her songs, or maybe a lyric out of one of her songs. It was all just so well done.

My niece Liz sent this puzzle to me – she knows I love both National Parks and jigsaw puzzles, so it was a perfect gift. I had recently done one something like this but it was 500 pieces – this one was 1000. I love puzzles with lots of detail, so this was right up my alley.

What a wonderful day we had today, celebrating June’s high school graduation. We were so, so proud. It takes forever to get pictures downloaded off of my camera, so I did a few this evening, & will get more done in then next couple of days. Here are a couple, though. She looks thrilled in this picture, doesn’t she? With a last name like Yarbrough, of course she was the very last one on this list of graduates, but since she was Salutatorian, and was sitting on the stage, she was actually the second one to receive her diploma. I got this picture of her when she was waiting to go back up on stage after they’d called all of the other 264 names. She looks like she’s struggling to stay awake, doesn’t she? 🙂

Yesterday was Graduate Sunday at church. I got this picture of June as she was accepting her gift from Anna, the chairman of the Higher Education Committee.

We had several college graduates this year, but only two high school graduates: June and Julian. I got this picture of them after church.

I started on my most recent jigsaw puzzle last week while Jeff was at Myrtle Beach at Bike Week, and finished it up the other night. I thought this was pretty funny. It’s of Mount Airy, the town where Andy Griffith was from and that Mayberry is based on in the old TV show, and that’s very near Winston-Salem, where Andy & Amy live. And Liz found it for them in Seattle, and got it for them for Christmas. That made me smile. We watch The Andy Griffith Show almost every night, so we recognized almost all of the pictures from the different episodes that are in the puzzle. Very fun puzzle.

Tuesday evening Lindee, Mallory, & Clara took me to Charlotte for a late birthday celebration. We went to see the Broadway Lights production of Les Miz, & beforehand ate at Asbury’s, where they served a Les Miserables themed meal. It was delicious and so, so fun. They had a photo booth set up inside the theater, but the line was long, so we opted for the poster outside the theater. Such a special evening.

Today a friend that Jeff went to high school with, Debbie Wampler, who has now moved to Sumter, SC – a couple of hours south of here – came up to spend the day with us, and we had such a good time checking out the Charlotte Serenity Garden for the first time. Absolutely beautiful. It’s at the end of a cul-de-sac in a beautiful neighborhood in Charlotte, and it really was so peaceful and serene. Here are a few pictures.

Yesterday afternoon I drove to Inman – maybe an hour & a half away – for my dear friend Evie’s granddaughter Cameron’s graduation party. It was so cute, and I am so proud of her. She is graduating from Boiling Springs High School, whose colors are red and black, so I tried to dress appropriately :-). The picture arch, though, was made with blue balloons, in honor of Presbyterian College, where she’ll be going in the fall on a cheerleading scholarship. She is just a special kid.
