First Golf Match of the Season

Yesterday Jeff & I were in Rock Hill at Waterford Golf Course to see Clara kick off her final golf season. I got this picture of her teeing off.

And I got this picture of our low-score medalist after the match – she shot a 45, and Clover won the match, so it was a good day on the links.

Adam’s Jamboree

I have no idea what button I pressed on my camera to make the pictures turn out so light at the football jamboree Friday evening – at least I hope it was a button, & not that my camera is just dying. Anyway, it was a great time. Adam and the Rock Hill High School Bearcats played Spring Valley in the first game, which started at 5:30. It was brutally hot – luckily one of Jenny’s friends let me use one of those fans that goes around your neck & blows up at your face, which helped tons. Anyway, Adam plays on the kickoff team, so we got to see him in action a good bit on that, because Rock Hill won the game 34-0. Then he got in on defense at least one play in the second half – maybe a couple more. He is #45 – he’s the fourth one from this end, running up to meet the Vikings on one of the kickoffs.

On the sidelines with one of his very best buddies, McCoy, who is #44 this year. I really appreciate their numbers being right next to each other. That makes it much easier for us to keep up with them both 🙂

Latest Jigsaw Puzzle

This latest jigsaw puzzle that I worked was 1000 pieces, and the hardest I can remember doing in a while. That background about did me in. The grandkids sure were proud, though, that I was working a Marvel puzzle 🙂

Visiting the Franklin Smiths

Meg & I were in Tennessee last week to spend time with high school classmates, but our first top was in Franklin, to see Josh, Hillary, and the boys, and have a delicious supper. We had so, so much fun. I got this picture of almost-three-year-old Jack showing off the train he made with the dining room chairs 🙂

Porch Visiting

A couple of weeks ago June texted me and asked if, when Little Hope came into town for the weekend, they could come hang out at our house for a while. I told them of course they could. They have both told me at different times that their favorite thing about Thanksgiving is sitting out on our front porch and talking, so I wasn’t too surprised. I got this picture of them while they were visiting.

June’s Birthday Present

Sunday after church I ran June’s birthday present by to her – a mere two weeks late. She is definitely our family green thumb, so we got her a propagation station. She knew exactly what it was when she opened it, too, which shouldn’t have surprised me. She had on her new shirt for her new job, since she was going in that afternoon, so I got to see her in that, too.

Lunch with Adam

Yesterday Adam and I had lunch together before he started back to school tomorrow, too. Went to try a new Mexican place in Rock Hill. It was a little spicy for me, but the company could not have been better. He is such a fun kid to hang out with. Got the update on school, football, and his upcoming date that evening, and we talked about bullying, the Salem Witch Trials, the Great Gatsby, and all manner of other things. Fun time.

Clara – final pre-senior year picture

Clara stopped and got us McDonald’s for lunch on her way out to spend the afternoon with us this past week, before she starts back to school tommorrow. I got this picture before she headed out the door to meet her dad at the golf course to play a round. It was one of those brutally hot days – I’m not sure how they stood being out in it.

June’s New Job

Recently June began a new job as a hostess at Hoof and Barrel, a restaurant in York. She really does seem to be enjoying it. Jeff & I went there for supper the other night, to see her in action and to get something to eat. I got this picture of her at her station as we were walking in.
