Friday Pix

Last Thursday we had the hardest rain that we have had in this area in decades. Jeff has spent most days since then clearing up and repairing our driveway that washed away.

Luckily Mason has started a new enterprise to raise money – baking and selling cupcakes with his new company, Frosted, and he made his first delivery to our door that afternoon. They were yummy, and he was so excited 🙂

Soccer Season Ends

Today I was in Columbia for Clara’s final game of her season. They didn’t win, but played really, really good until the very last minute of the game so we were proud. I got this picture afterwards.

Daytime Halloween

After having to postpone our family Halloween gathering from the Wednesday before due to rain, this past Wednesday everyone was here, except for Jenny, who had to work. It was the first time we’d all been together since before Covid, so it was just so much fun. We cooked hotdogs and somemores over the fire, and had sort of a Haunted Scavenger Hunt instead of going all out with a haunted trail or house this year, but it was still so much fun. Here are a couple of pictures I got of Jeff’s decorations during the daylight hours. They were still pretty creepy.

Halloween Pizza

Last Saturday, on Halloween, for lunch Jeff & I had the jack-o-lantern pizzas I’d found at Aldi a couple of weeks before. How cute is this? The sauce was actually butternut puree, in keeping with the orange theme, and was actually pretty tasty 🙂

Becky’s Mask

Last Thursday, I think it was, my friend Becky came over for a porch visit while she was in town helping with her grandbabies. She brought her mask to show me, and I was so excited. My old high school buddy Pat Palmer Thweatt is making masks now, & when looking on facebook at all of the fabric she had available, I noticed some that had Tennessee state parks on it, including Bays Mountain, very near where Becky and her husband Doug live. Even with growing up in Tennessee, I had never heard of that park until she mentioned it, so was so excited to see it on the fabric. I told her about it, she got in touch with Pat, and ordered her mask. I just loved seeing it. Social media at its best.

Final Saturday Pix

We finished up our time at Curtin Farms at the pumpkin painting display.

From there we drove around McDonalds to grab us some lunch, and then headed into town to Clara’s soccer game. Not sure what button I pushed on the camera to get this color effect, but I got this picture of the cousins together after the game.

Saturday Pix, Part 1

Saturday morning we were at Saluda Trail Middle School early, to cheer Charlie on in his last race of the season. His time wasn’t as good as he’d hoped it would be – it was hot and they were running on pavement almost the entire time – but he came in 7th in the JV race, so we were excited.

We dropped Jeff off at the house, and June, Mason, & I headed out to Curtin Farms for their Fall Farm Days. It was much smaller than it had been in days gone by, but we still really enjoyed the hayride. There was even a covered bridge we went over :-). More pix to follow.
