What a great day we had today at the BMX track.  It was the state championship race, and while both Charlie and Adam raced, Adam had not qualified in the right races to actually compete for the state championship.  They both did a great job, though.  I got this picture as soon as they both won their first motos.  So proud!

Both won their races, and Charlie actually ended up winning the state championship in the 12-year-old intermediate division. Adam wanted to get his picture made on the first place podium with his trophy, even though they really were just for the championships. We were so proud of them both!

Wednesday morning we picked Mason up early and headed to Larne Elementary School for breakfast and, of course, to shop the Book Fair.  Great way to kick off our day.

Tuesday afternoon we were back at River Hills watching Mal play golf.  She did better than she had the last couple of matches, and then Wednesday when Jeff went to watch her play – I had June and Mason & we had church that evening – she tied as medalist, so she finished her season on the upswing.  Regional tourney is Monday!

Monday night was another in our Performing Arts Series at the auditorium here in town.  Meg wasn’t able to use her ticket, so I invited Lee’s mom Bennie to join Evelyn and me.  Bennie & I met for supper at the Clover Grill beforehand, and had a great time catching up.  And then the show was really great.  A cappella group – impressive, to say the least.

Sunday I headed straight over after church to watch Clara play soccer.  It’s the only home game they have this fall, so we were excited to be there.  And this is the only picture I got – of Clara hugging the pole to prevent the other team from scoring.  Something must have worked – I think Clover won 5-0.

Saturday my dear friend Evelyn & I helped with the reception for our friend Becky’s daughter Emily.  It was just sweet and precious and so much fun.  Here are the three of us before things got too busy.
