Runners Up? I’m not sure. At any rate, last night June and her Gladiator teammates played in the game for the season championship. They came up a little bit short, but really played well. They played five innings, & I think June was involved in getting the other team out like six of those times. Not that I’m proud or bragging or anything. Here they are afterwards with their medals. June is second from the left in the front row, Lee is second from the left in the back. Now they’re talking maybe basketball this winter? We shall see.
Godly Play
Last night was our special Wednesday evening Godly Play celebration, when the children who participate in the Godly Play Sunday School classes were invited to share one of the stories with people who were there for dinner that night. June was one of eight kids in the church who were asked, and agreed, to participate. She worked hard learning the story, and she did such a good job. There were probably about twenty people there listening to and watching her. I was so proud!
Fossil Cookies
Tuesday when Mallory & Clara were here we spent some time making Fossil Cookies. They turned out pretty cute. Here they are mixing the cookie dough in their very favorite way 🙂
And a picture of the finished product. I’m not sure that in this picture you can see the bug shape in the cookie, but they were pretty cute in real life 🙂
Monday Night Football
Fun night this week when we had tickets to go with Dennis and Cinnamon to go see the Panthers take on the Colts in the Monday Night Football Game. Boo and his buddy Matt Smith also went. We had planned on making a day of it tailgating, but it was raining and nasty, so we ate at Dilworth Neighborhood Tavern, & then rode the shuttle from there. Here is our group waiting in line for the bus to arrive. We had a great time, despite the weather, and the Panthers won in overtime. We stayed until it was over – 12:30 AM, so we didn’t get home until 2:15, but it was worth it. Just a good time.
Birthday Gifts
Yesterday was my birthday, and all the kids and grandkids – except Jenny, who was sleeping from being in the midst of her night shift run – came & brought lunch after church. It was yummy. I forgot to get any pictures at all of any of us, so I had to content myself with taking pictures of my gifts after everyone left. Jeff got me new blacklights :-). I was all upset because on the haunted trail this year our blacklight didn’t work, so he resupplied us 🙂
Halloween
Yesterday afternoon our celebration started off with our Light Up the Night Festival at church. The kids came & brought all of the grandkids – alas, I forgot to take new batteries for my camera, so I only had my phone to take pictures, & they are generally pretty bad. Here is our silly Native American Princess, though 🙂
Then last night was Boo and Shea’s Halloween Party. Here are Slash and the Witch. It was a fun time – and the weather was absolutely perfect for sitting outside on the patio with the fire pit going. Jeff & I were the only ones who dressed up other than Boo and Shea, so we won the cute gift basket Shea had made up for the Best Costume. Woo Hoo! It was a fun day.
