Harry’s Grave

On our way out of town Sunday morning, Meg & I stopped by the cemetery to visit Harry’s grave, and found that the flowers Amy and Andy put there the last time they were in town were still just lovely.

50th High School Reunion

What a fun, fun time last Saturday was, when I was back in Murfreesboro to celebrate our Murfreesboro Central High School class of 1972. That morning we got a chance to tour the old school – it turned into a middle school the year after we graduated, and since then has become a magnet school – and enjoyed a slide show and presentation about the 1971 football team who won the state championship. One of the really fun things was checking out the Archives Room, with all kinds of historic memorablia about the school since it was first built maybe in the 1930’s? Just very cool.

That evening was a party/reception at the Maney Room at Oaklands Mansion, but it was such a nice evening that we spent a lot of time sitting outside. These were a lot of my best buddies when we were in high school – so, so much fun reconnecting.

Monday morning outing

Monday was Memorial Day, and I picked Mason up early for us to go take a walk around the Lake Trail at Crowders Mountain State Park – early so we could beat the heat! It was a gorgeous day to be out in the woods.

We had stopped on the way over at Clover Donuts – the first time either of us had been there – to get us some nourishment for after our hike. I went with my standard apple fritter, but Mason picked a Memorial Day donut 🙂
