Saturday in Georgia

Yesterday we had the first Snow/Langley reunion that I think we’ve had in 20 years. Andy & Amy came down & spent Friday night, & then we met Zollie in Rock Hill and the four of us rode down together. That in itself was a lot of fun. Sherri actually started this event off as almost a spur of the moment thing when she sent a text maybe two months ago to just our first cousins, asking if we could get together June 3. And then everyone forwarded that on to extended family that they had emails for, and this is what we ended up with. So, so much fun visiting and catching up. I’m already looking forward to the first Saturday in June next year – we’re hoping to make it an annual event! This is cousin Tee with the sunglasses, and then extended Langley family bringing in food and looking at pictures. What a precious day.

On the way home we stopped at Teresa & John’s house, which was her mom & dad, Auntie & Uncle Dick’s house, previously. And it has been in Uncle Dick’s family for at least five generations. They are getting ready to do some remodeling, so had a historical house person come out to help them with the renovations. She went up under the house, and said she estimated that it was built around 1820. How amazing is that? It really is a special place to all of our family, so we took a quick tour to see it once more the way it’s been as long as we’ve known it, and to hear their remodeling plans. Such a special way to end the trip.
