What a fun afternoon we had last Friday when June and Mason were at the house. We decided to try a science experiment that I’ve been wanting to do I think, really, since I heard about it as a kid, where you turn chicken bones to rubber. Mason & I fixed barbecued chicken drumsticks for lunch for him, Papa, and me, so we had a good supply. Here are June and Mason washing them at the kitchen sink – the first instruction said to get them good and clean before you put them in the jar of vinegar. They’ll be back at the house tomorrow afternoon – we’ll see if we succeeded in rubberizing them then :-).
That evening the kids went with us to Rock Hill to Charlie’s church league basketball game, and afterwards to CiCi’s Pizza for supper – Charlie’s choice, since it was sort of a late birthday celebration for him – we missed his party last weekend while we were in Indiana. The kids wanted a booth so all the cousins could sit on one side together – Adam was home sick :-(. the food wasn’t spectacular that evening, but the company was out of this world :-).
