This morning was the first annual Maytona 5K, a race to raise money for the Bethany Elementary PTO. Sherri was in town, so she and I went to help out, along with Lindee and Mallory, although Mal actually ran. Here she is running, as she was coming back to the pivot point where Sher & I were stationed – almost back to the finish line at our church. I was so proud that she ran it! Her teacher, Mrs. Burgess, had told them that if they beat her in the race they wouldn’t have any more homework for the rest of the year. Mal didn’t quite beat her, although she wasn’t far behind, but then she was very excited when Mrs. Burgess told her that she’d decided that none of the kids who participated would have homework for the rest of the year. Yay!
