Time Travel Tuesday

Every Tuesday since the pandemic began, or around then, Historic Brattonsville has hosted a Zoom Time Travel Tuesday, about all kinds of interesting historic topics pertaining to the local area. This week it was about the beginning of the temperance movement in York County. The first temperance societies were started in the country in 1826, and by the 1850’s were going great guns in this area. This lady is so knowledgeable, and such fun to listen to. I hope I remember to watch them more regularly.

Latest Puzzle

With all the rain we’ve had this month, Jeff & I have had plenty of time to be working puzzles. We thought this one was going to be really hard, but as it turned out, it was not at all. 500 pieces. Fourth of July.

Puzzling Activity

With all of the rainy days we’ve had lately, Jeff & I had plenty of time to work the entire set of Disney puzzles he got me for Christmas, to celebrate our then upcoming trip to Disney World. Puzzles are one of our favorite bad weather activities.

Thursday Pix

We have been having so many rainy days lately that we have spent a lot of time working jigsaw puzzles – one of our very favorite indoor activities. Here is one of the Disney set that Jeff got me for Christmas, to celebrate our trip to Disney World. This one was 750 pieces.

That afternoon I spent a good part of the afternoon watching the Rover Perseverance landing on Mars. I was so excited about it happening – it was kind of emotional for me when it touched down. This is not a very good picture of the lady who was giving us the play by play on what exactly was happening. So, so very cool.

Story Walk

Yesterday Meg & I went out to eat breakfast at the Virgin Bean Coffee Shop in town, and then went walking at Roosevelt Park. I had not been to Roosevelt Park since June played softball there probably five or six years ago, and they’ve added a nice walking track around the fields. We really went, though, because the children’s librarian in town had put up at Story Walk, and we wanted to check it out. The book she used was so good, and we were so happy at how good it was holding up with the torrential downpours we’ve been having lately. So was the children’s librarian, Miss Tina, when we told her about when we stopped by the library afterwards, to pick up a book they were holding for me.

Vaccine #1

Just now getting pictures downloaded from our first vaccine outing last week. I didn’t feel it at all going in, and didn’t have any trouble at all afterwards. Jeff’s arm was pretty sore for a couple of days, but nothing terrible. One down, one to go!
