9/11 Memorial

Wednesday the snow had stopped by the time we headed out to the 9/11 Memorial. It was beautiful and heart-wrenching and haunting. We got a picture of the four of us there.

We visited the 9/11 Tribute Museum, which is run by the families of those lost in the 9/11 attacks. Some of the exhibits and displays were just haunting, including this one. The camera and film survived the collapse of the towers, but not the photojournalist who shot the pictures. So sad.

Saks Fifth Avenue Window

One of the things I most wanted to do while we were in New York for Christmas time was see the store windows.  There aren’t as many big department stores as there once were, but the ones we saw were beautiful.  Saks had a Frozen theme.  They were animated and so beautiful.

First Day in New York

Tuesday morning my friends Evelyn, Charlotte, Pam & I headed out for our long awaited trip to New York City.  I took this picture as we were Ubering to our hotel from LaGuardia – our first real view of the city.  Not a great picture, but a very cool moment.

One of the first things we wanted to see was the tree at Rockefeller Plaza, and it did not disappoint.  Absolutely beautiful.  What a great way to kick off our adventure.

Tree Decorating

We decorated our tree yesterday afternoon when the kids got here after school. They did a great job, and we surely were glad for all the help.

Of course we had a little George Strait playing in the background to keep the day merry and bright 🙂
