Our Busy Saturday

Saturday afternoon Jeff & I headed to Shelby to see our friends Cammy and Mike get married.  It was the first wedding we had ever been to in a biker bar, but it was a sweet, beautiful, God filled ceremony, and great fun.  Jeff took some pictures of the family groups while I was at the back talking to folks.   That’s the bride in the middle in the white lace overlay, and the groom turned completely around behind her 🙂

Home for a quick rest, and then we were in Rock Hill, where we met Addie, Lee, and the kids, and Lindee and Clara, at Slow Play Brewery, where our friend Luke Edwards and his band, The Grassabillies, were playing.  They were great, and the kids, old and young, loved it, too.  That’s Clara in the pink breaking it down that you can barely see in this picture :-).  Loved the bass fiddle player playing on the ground – very cool.

Tuesday Pix

Our azaleas are absolutely at their peak right now!  Hoping they’ll stay pretty for a week for perfect Easter pictures, but we shall see.

Tuesday evening was Clara’s final elementary school chorus program. On the final song, she was one of the students who came down on the floor and played the alto xylophone.  At least I think that’s what she said it was.  They did such a good job.

Work Day, etc.

Saturday morning Jeff, Adam, & I headed to Gran’s almost as soon as it was light, and met Zollie and Cooper who drove down from King, NC; Greg, who drove up from Loganville, GA, and Nathan, who drove down from Holly Springs, NC, to work in Gran’s yard.  Meg and Mike joined us a little later, and we got a lot done.  I didn’t get a ton of pictures, but here is one of some of the folks in action.

We finished up early afternoon, in time to get to Fort Mill to watch Clara play in her last game of the season.  She had been sick all week, so didn’t get a ton of playing time, but they won 3-2, so all were happy.  She’s #12 in the blue.

Tarheel Traveler

I’m just now getting caught up on pictures from over a week ago, after recovering from a bout with the flu.  Yuck.  Anyway, these are from Monday – eleven days ago – when my friend Charlotte and I took our dear friends Dick and Kirkie out to celebrate their birthdays.  We went out to eat at the Cherokee Grill in Kings Mountain, NC, and then to a program at the library there presented by Scott Mason, who hosts the Tarheel Traveler TV program out of Raleigh.  It really exceeded even my expectations.  SO funny and entertaining and moving.  He showed some of his favorite clips of his sows – and he has been doing this for many, may years.  Really a good evening.  Here are a couple of pictures.
