Library and Lacrosse

I spent the day yesterday at home, going through paperwork I’d brought home when I cleared out my desk at work, and Jeff was outside all day digging in the dirt.  Then late yesterday afternoon I picked June and Mason up to go to the Magical Storytime at the library.  There was even a fairy there to read them stories 🙂

Then home to get Jeff, and back to watch Mallory’s first lacrosse game ever. We know nothing whatsoever about lacrosse except that they play it with those sticks with nets on the end, but luckily enough we were sitting next to the varsity girls lacrosse team, and they started filling us in on the rules. It’s the first middle school team in the state – we’ll play NC teams – so we lost 13-2, but the girls all seemed to have fun and were happy coming off the field, so I still consider the evening a success. Mal didn’t start, but played about half the game. She scooped up the ball one time and made a good run at the goal before she got blocked, so we thought that was pretty good for her first match ever! Got this picture after the game.

Kimbrell’s Third Birthday Party

Special day yesterday, when Mallory, Clara, and I headed down to Spartanburg to celebrate Kimbrell’s big day.  Our girl is getting so, so big.

In that picture you can see Mal with baby Ellie in the background – I got this one of the two of them just before we left for home. So sweet to spend time with these girls.

Thursday

Earlier in the week Joe called & said he’d found a book when he was cleaning out his office that he thought Mallory might like.  She loves history, and is especially interested in anything that has to do with WWII.  He had a book that one of our clients had given him about D-Day.  This particular client, Joe Williams, was featured in the book.  Mal was so excited that someone from Clover was in there.  Here she is checking out that very page.

That day I also finished getting the pins in the map that Lindee and family gave me for Christmas for me to mark all the places we’d been on vacation. The only pin I haven’t put in is the one marking Washington, DC – I’m saving that for Mal or Charlie to put in the next time they’re over here, since we three spent this night together there with the Declaration of Independence :-).  I feel like we need to start traveling out west pretty soon 🙂

Special Wednesday

We had such a good day Wednesday.  We started the morning out at Grandparents’ Breakfast at Larne Elementary School with June and Mason.  After a breakfast of Hardees biscuits and a visit to the bookfair, we got this picture of Mason with his report and picture of Abraham Lincoln hanging on the wall outside his classroom.

Then after school we picked June and Mason up from school, came back for hot chocolate and graham crackers for snack, and – because it was raining and nasty outside – played cards, and then got to the middle school in time to see Mallory in her final home Academic Quiz Team match. I got this picture of her afterwards with her fan club :-). It was Wacky Tacky Day at the elementary schools celebrating Read Across America week, and Clara was still sporting her hairdo. Ha.
