Young Harris and Helen

Saturday Sherri and I picked up Isaac and Zoee and headed to Sharp Memorial UMC at Young Harris for our annual Smith Family Christmas gathering.  It is always just so, so much fun being with cousins and aunts that we don’t get to see nearly often enough.  Here are some of us cutting up before everyone headed home:  me, Liz, Sherri, Carol, and Bobby.  So much fun.

We spent the night in Helen, at the lodge at Unicoi State Park. We checked in and rested for a while, and then headed into town to check out the lights and the cute little shops. I loved this display in the toy store with where all people came from who had shopped there. Such a wonderful day.

Greenville Craft Show

We have been going to the Greenville Holiday Fair every year since we moved to SC 35 years ago, and Friday was our day this year.  Charlotte and I took separate cars so she could come back that night, and we stopped at Mr Waffle in Gaffney for breakfast, then fought the horrendous construction traffic to meet Sherri at the show.  This was the single picture I took that day, to show her the little sign I got for June and Mason to give Ms Olivia, who is directing their Christmas program at church this year.  This is her chant when she wants to get the kids’ attention, so we thought it was perfect.

Making spaghetti sauce

Not a great picture, but Wednesday when June and Mason got here after school, we got a big pot of sauce going on the stove for supper.  The phone guy was coming, so we didn’t think we’d been able to get to church in time to eat.  As it turned out, though, he came early, and it took him about three minutes to fix the phone, so we had spaghetti sauce left for supper Thursday night – which was wonderful!
