Bridal Saturday

What a special day we had yesterday.  Sherri and I headed up EARLY Saturday morning to King, where we met Lindee & her girls to work the annual Feed Stokes 5K that Zollie and Renee direct.  Lunch all together afterwards at the King Kitchen, and then we spent the afternoon at a bridal shower for Cooper’s fiancée Rachel.  It was lovely, and she just got so, so many beautiful things.  Loved the decorations.

Then that evening there was a big cookout at Zollie and Renee’s house, to celebrate the engagement that had just taken place – like a half hour before – between Josh and Hillary. She was lovely and the couple was so happy, and it was just a beautiful, emotional day. So excited to be a part of it.

Alex’s Shower

Friday night I helped Denise host a diaper shower for Alex & Jeremy at her house.  It was such fun.  Alas, Kimbrell had already gotten down from her high chair and headed out before I snapped this picture 🙂

Mallory’s Coat of Arms

When I picked the girls up from school Thursday, for part of her homework Mallory had to finish working on her coat-of-arms for her social studies class.  It was very interesting hearing what everything meant that she put on there – every color even meant something.  I think she said the pelican represented generosity, the swing set their home, the ballet shoe and golf ball her accomplishments, and the heart in hands her philosophy.  And the Bible verse at the top her family’s favorite.  Love it!

Jump Rope for Heart

Wednesday when the kids got here, Mason was proud to show off the prizes he won for his Jump Rope for Heart work at school.  He knew I would especially love the panda bear key chain he won, as would his dad, because it is holding a basketball 🙂

Release Time Bible Education Pancake Supper

Last night was the big fund raiser for the Bible study in the elementary schools here in Clover.  Both June and Clara are participants at their schools, so they sang with their groups from Larne and Bethany schools last night.  Here is June’s group – she is to the right of the little girl in green…-

And Clara, in the pink headband.  The little boy behind her is Carter, who goes to our church.  It was a special night.

Fun Friday

We had a good day yesterday, starting with Breakfast for Grandparents at Larne Elementary School.  June snapped this picture of Mason and me 🙂

Then last night was Adam’s last church league basketball game of the season.  Here he is dribbling around a defender.  It was just a good day.

Thursday Pix

Thursday when I picked Clara up from school, I found out it had been Hat Day for Dr Seuss week.  Rather than wear a hat she already had, she created her own out of three headbands and various other items she had at home.  She said it was certainly the most creative hat at the school that day, as well as the most Dr Seussian 🙂

That evening Evelyn, Meg, and I went to the Performing Arts series program at the high school auditorium, the Annie Moses Band. It was a group made up of mostly family who were pretty amazing musicians on many different instruments, and such good vocalists as well.
