This Evening’s Celebrations

What a special evening this was. I took off work a little bit early, ran by the house & picked Jeff up, and then headed to Rock Hill for Clara’s surprise birthday dinner at Gran’s house. Lindee just got sub sandwiches and a cookie cake – Clara does not love cake itself – and almost all the family was there to celebrate with her. Here she is opening her presents with her sister & some of her cousins hanging around.

The celebration was also for Elise, who performed in her final high school chorus concert tonight.  Here she is afterwards with her cousins:  Clara in front of Hope, Elise, Mallory, and Lindee.  Just a special night with some of my favorite people.

Mallory’s 5th grade Chorus Program

Tonight was Mal’s final chorus performance as an elementary school student – a little bit emotional, to say the least. They performed songs from “Wicked,” and they just did such a good job. That’s Mal in the second row, third from the left, with the green puffs on her head. The dress she’s wearing is the one my sister-in-law Renee made for Lindee to wear to her junior prom – 20+ years ago. It’s held up nicely 🙂

With her beloved chorus teacher, Mrs. Bailes.  She has just been so good with Mallory and the other kids.  It was a great evening.

Kimbrell -Tuesday

Tuesday morning Kimbrell and I managed to get outside between rain storms to spend a little bit of time in the woods. She is so proud that she’s big enough now to climb up in the chairs by herself 🙂

Sunday Nursery

Sunday morning I ended up in the nursery, and as it turned out, Adam and Mason were the only two children who were in children’s church. So they just came in the nursery with me, and were SUCH good helpers. Here is Adam reading a book to some of the babies we had, including Kimbrell in her cute flowered dress. Sweet times.

This Evening’s Pictures

FINALLY I am able to get back on here & do some more posting. The way I was uploading pictures no longer works, so with Lee’s help I was able to find out another way to get that done. Yay! I hate not having a record on here about what’s been going on with us. This evening four of the six grandchildren – Charlie, June, Adam, and Mason – are here sleeping over, so Addie & Lee were heading out for supper on the town when they dropped theirs off. They looked so pretty and handsome!

Making Smith family icing, for us to take to Gran’s tomorrow for hot fudge cake. Yum. In this picture Mason is adding a pinch of salt :-). Good times…IMG_20160430_201828
